Chery Pakistan has introduced the Chery Q, Chery Master Pakistan’s first all-electric car for the local market, marking the start of a new category called the Q Segment. The car was officially launched at the Pakistan Auto Show 2026 in Lahore on September 18. In a series of videos, Samir Malik, CEO of Chery Master Pakistan, explained what the Chery Q is, who it is made for and why it stands apart from other compact cars in the country.
The Q Segment is Chery’s answer to what a modern Pakistani family really needs from a car: compact enough for busy city streets, smart enough for everyday life, and full of personality. Chery Master Pakistan noted that buyers in the PKR 4.5 to 6 million range have long had to compromise on space, technology, safety, convenience and running costs, and the Q is designed to challenge those compromises. As the CEO put it,
“The Chery Q is for you, for your family. This is your Q.”
The Chery Q is a rear-wheel-drive electric car built for everyday city driving. It has a 42.7 kWh battery with up to 400 km of range (NEDC) and an efficiency of 9.4 km per kWh. It produces 90 kW (121 hp), supports DC fast charging from 30% to 80% in 16.5 minutes or less, and offers 6.6 kW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability to power external devices.
Despite its compact footprint, the cabin is notably spacious, with a width of 1,811 mm, a 2,700 mm wheelbase and 152 mm of rear knee room. A 5.2-metre turning radius makes U-turns easy on crowded streets. Practical touches include a powered 70-litre front trunk, a powered tailgate with 375 to 1,450 litres of cargo space, and 38 storage spaces throughout the cabin.
On safety, the Chery Q comes with six airbags, 21 Level 2 ADAS functions, a 540° HD camera and automatic parking assist for both parking in and out. Its body uses 82% high-strength steel, and the battery carries an IP68 dust and water resistance rating. Inside, a 15.6-inch display supports wired and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, alongside an 8.88-inch digital cluster, 50 W wireless phone charging and offline voice control.
Lower Running Costs, Especially with Solar
According to Chery Master Pakistan’s estimates, a typical petrol car driven 20,000 km a year could spend around PKR 488,000 to 569,000 on fuel, compared with roughly PKR 30,000 for the Q when charged on solar. Actual costs depend on electricity tariffs and driving conditions, but for households with solar panels, the Q can turn sunshine into daily mileage.
The Chery Q also drew crowds at the PakWheels New Wheels Expo, where visitors and families explored its design and cabin up close. It was displayed alongside Chery’s plug-in hybrid lineup, which you can read about in our New Wheels Expo Karachi coverage. In the final video of the series, the CEO also explained why the Q is described as “3 Cars in 1”: a single compact car designed to fit every side of your life.
The Chery Q is available at a limited-time introductory price of PKR 5,554,000, with a booking amount of PKR 1,500,000. Early bookings include a complimentary 7 kW home charger worth PKR 100,000.
